Frequently Asked Questions
You have questions, and we have answers. We’ve put together a list of answers to questions we get asked all the time.

What makes wool carpet a good choice for allergy sufferers?

Wool is non-allergenic and doesn’t promote the growth of dust mites and bacteria. Airborne particles irritate hay fever and asthma suffers, and since wool fibres are too long and coarse to be inhaled, they do not affect asthma sufferers.

How is wool carpet beneficial to people’s health?

In addition to being non-allergenic, fibres from regularly vacuumed wool carpets can actually purify indoor air by absorbing air pollutants and gases.

What are carpet grading schemes?

Carpet grading schemes are used to determine carpet performance. Based on the results of more than 20 independent technical tests, including durability, colour fastness and appearance retention, the carpet is categorised as medium duty, heavy duty or extra heavy duty. This classification will give you an idea of how the carpet will wear on your floor.

Why type of grade carpet is right for me?

It depends on where the carpet will be installed. Here are some general guidelines:
  • Medium Duty: This grade is suitable for areas that aren’t subject to high traffic, such as living rooms for small families, bedrooms, studies, etc.

  • Heavy Duty: This grade is good for hallways, living rooms and anywhere with a heavy flow of household traffic.

  • Extra Heavy Duty: This grade is ideal for busy living areas, hallways and even some commercial offices and shops.

Why should I choose wool for my home?

  • Wool resists soiling and it is easy to clean as it naturally keeps the soil loose in the pile of the carpet which makes vacuuming so much easier
  • Wool is safe, naturally frame retardant and will no melt
  • Wool is environmentally friendly, a renewable resource and bio degradable
